Gifts Ideas

Christmas time is almost here! And since I'm going to be gone for Christmas, I'll give some recommendations for the Christmas shoppers who don't know what to buy.

1.

Schleich are the best at making figures. From dragons to wolves, hands down, they win. The figures are always painted nicely, so they are not really for rough players, but they are for almost anyone (well, as in if some one's not interesting in figurines).

2.
Lincoln Logs are the best building material found outside of LEGO. You can make all sorts of houses with them. And sadly, just houses. Anyhow, they're pretty fun.

3.
When you don't know what a kid wants, keep calm and pick LEGO. If you are not familiar with them, they're blocks and they build. Oh, and they're pretty fun for anyone.

And alas, that is it. I am going to be taking a break next week for Christmas. So, until then, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Monsuno Review

It's been out for a while. It's a toy made by Americans but the name sounds Japanese. It's Monsuno! The funny thing about these toys is that they came out roughly when Bakugan was going away. Anyways, here's the back story:
A long time ago, these creatures called Monsuno roamed the planet. Then they sorta became extinct. Years later, they're back!
I think they are cool, with the fact that they go into these tube-things like Pokemon and Pokeballs, but the cards aren't something I call collector-worthy. Instead, they are more like 'just-for-play'.  Another thing is that the quality of the toys are dull, which is to be expected since they are made by Jakks Pacific.

And so, here comes the final grading of this franchise: it's good, but I rather have Bakugan, and Monsuno is basically just a toy wanting attention. So, it's fun for a person who wants to collect something new or a little kid, although it falls short of being something like Pokemon or Beyblade.
Whipper

Note: The name Monsuno doesn't mean a thing in Japanese. It was probably derived from the English words 'monster' and 'monsoon'.

Defenders of Berk: Toothless Plush

How to Train Your Dragon is my favorite movie. Why? Because it has dragons, of course! And now, with the 2nd movie coming and the TV show going, Spinmaster (the company making the toys for Dreamworks) seems to be actually making some effort into the making of the toys. The Toothless plush, is the one I will be reviewing today.

The plush is fairly detailed, including the fake tail. His eyes are big, which makes him cute. The two problems I have is that the wings are floppy, and make of almost cheap fabric, and that his 'growl' sounds like he's screaming in pain (which is why I took the voice box's batteries out).

Onto the pictures!

Look at those eyes! So cute, no?!

LEGO Chima Razcal's Glider

This is my first Chima set, ever. I always thought it was a cheap knock-off, a way for LEGO to make money. I'm actually very impressed by it and the build is pretty good.
If you don't know what Chima is about, it's about a mystical land that was once all just regular animals, until one day CHI fell out of the sky (yeah, we don't know how, it just did!) and when the animals drank it... well? They became smart and humanoid. And basically some animals just want the CHI all to themselves, so that's how the good guy VS. bad guy comes in. Anyways, on to the pictures, my friend!

 Very cool raven-figure and airplane.

Pokemon Trainer's Choice: Piplup Plush

From the exclusive to Toys R Us, Pokemon Trainer's Choice, comes Piplup. Now at first, I thought perhaps it would be a regular poorly made Jakks Pacific toy. I was wrong.
First off, this is made by Takara Tomy, which is a great because this means it has great quality. He's also pretty soft, and huggable. The only bad thing I can think of is that he's hard to take off the package because of the strap. Better have some strong scissors with you!

Hallo!!

Well then! Finally the first post, eh! Anyways, on this blog I will be reviewing toys and plush-toys. This means I'll be writing extensive reviews about each thing I buy. Although, this blog post is pretty short.. heh, sorry about that.

Until next time!
